CFRE 903 The Francophone Short Story

This course will focus on the Francophone short story and short story collections. Through study of this literary genre, students will develop skills in literary analysis. This course will also teach students about the diversity of francophone literature and culture. Authors studied may include Michel Tournier (France), Annie Saumont (France), Biorago Diop (Senegal), Calixthe Beyala (Cameroon), Assia Djebar (Algeria), Maryse Conde; (Guadeloupe), Rene Depestre (Haiti), Anne Dandurand (Canada) and Bernard Assiniwi (Canada). (Lower-level liberal studies elective) (Upper-level liberal studies elective)

Note: All students must take an interview/placement assessment before enrolling in this course.
