Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario (AATO)

Classes of Membership

Student
Student membership is available to all persons who are working toward the educational requirements of the Probationer Technologist or Probationer Technician membership.

Probationer Technician
A graduate of an approved two-year program or equivalent.

Probationer Technologist
A graduate of an approved three-year program or equivalent.

Accredited Building Technologist
A graduate of an approved three-year program or equivalent, who, since graduation, has completed a three-year probationary period of work experience acceptable to the certification board. An Accredited Building Technologist has the right to place the letters M.A.A.T.O. after his/her name.

Accredited Architectural Technologist
A graduate of an approved three-year program or equivalent who, since graduation, has completed a three-year probationary period of work experience acceptable to the certification board. Such work experience must include at least one year of Canadian experience under the direction of an architect in the province of Ontario. An Accredited Architectural Technologist has the right to place the letters M.A.A.T.O. after his/her name.
