Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

You’re eligible to register for the Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety if you possess one of the following admission criteria:

  • an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six Ontario Academic Credits (OACs) or Grade 12 U or M credits
  • mature student status with extensive professional experience

Certificate in Advanced Safety Management

You can register for the Certificate in Advanced Safety Management if you fulfil one of the following two sets of requirements:

  1. Successful completion of our Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or its equivalent).
  2. An Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six Ontario Academic Credits (OACs) or Grade 12 U or M credits (or equivalent) or mature student status, and all of the following:
    • five years of professional experience in a field relevant to occupational health and safety
    • successful completion of “Occupational Health and Safety Law” (COHS 208) and “Systems Management ” (COHS 718) (or their equivalent)
    • approval of Craig Fairclough (the Academic Coordinator)

Academic Policies

Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, which you must adhere to when enrolled in a continuing education course and/or registered in a certificate program. It is important that you review these policies before you enrol in your courses and/or register in your certificate.

To graduate from the Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or the Certificate in Advanced Safety Management, you must successfully complete the published certificate curricula from the year you registered in the certificate. Certificate requirements must be completed within six years from the time you were first admitted into the certificate program.
