Resetting Your Ryerson Password Online

You can now reset your own password online – anywhere and anytime you need to – using your Ryerson Online Identity account (i.e., the same username and password as your email account). The Chang School encourages you to take advantage of this self-service. The instructions below outline the easy two-part process:

Challenge Phrase Selection

  1. Go to my.ryerson.ca.
  2. At the my.ryerson tab, under Manage My Online Resources, select Manage my online resources: self-serve password change and resource requests.
  3. At the Self Serve page, select Update Challenge Phrase from the options.
  4. At the Update Challenge Phrase page, enter your current password; select two challenge questions using the drop-down menu boxes; enter your responses; and click Reset Challenge Phrase.

Note: It is very important that you keep your questions and responses in a safe and secure location, as Ryerson University is unable to retrieve them.

Password Reset (Using Challenge Phrases)

  1. Go to my.ryerson.ca.
  2. Under HELP, select Need help?
  3. At the Login Problem Checklist page, under Check Your Password, select Forget your password? Change your password using your challenge phrases.
  4. At the Password Reset using Challenge Phrase page, enter the information required and click Submit.
  5. At the Challenge Phrase Response page, select your two challenge questions using the drop-down menu-boxes; enter your responses; and click Verify Challenge Phrase Responses.
  6. At the Password Selection page, enter your new password twice, and click Submit Password.
  7. At the Summary Account Information page, a note will appear indicating successful reset of your password.

Note: It is very important that you keep your password challenge questions and answers in a safe and secure location, available to you for future reference.
