Landscape Design
RU Green Student/Alumni Sustainable Open Space Design Competition

The Certificate in Landscape Design is a widely recognized and unique program located in the heart of Toronto, one of Canada’s premier cities. The program delivers fundamental courses in landscape design with emphasis on design, design process, plant materials, horticulture, graphics as a language, construction, landscape ecology, history, and more. Courses are delivered through interactive lectures and enhanced with valuable local field trips.

The landscape design profession and industry offer a broad range of complex and far-reaching fields of landscape design. This comprehensive program integrates theory and application of knowledge for real world application.

Our instructors are practitioners who are current, experienced, and fully engaged in the industry of environmental design. Their educational backgrounds range from the prestigious Niagara Parks School of Horticulture to diplomas and master’s and doctorate degrees in landscape architecture, environmental design, and related professions. Landscape design instructors have held a seat on the board of the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (OALA); presented guest lectures, guest critiques, conference papers, and awards; and been published in both peer and non-peer journals.
