Spanish

Knowledge of another language can be very valuable for students or professionals, as it widens their career opportunities in a variety of fields where the ability to speak different languages may be required or desired. Students will gain a broader understanding of the culture and customs of others, a skill which is rapidly becoming essential to succeed in today’s increasingly globalized society.

Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world today. As Latin America flexes its economic muscles, knowledge of Spanish is quickly opening doors to business and career opportunities. Whether you are learning for personal or business reasons, the Certificate in Proficiency in Spanish will give you the oral and written skills you desire. Our program offers opportunities to increase professional qualifications, prepare for travel, and become a more informed citizen in a globalized world. We offer five levels of language courses, along with a range of advanced and specialized courses.

Through Ryerson University’s G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures offers a variety of Spanish courses for adult learners. While colleges and other universities offer primarily conversational Spanish, we offer relevant university credit courses in small class size settings. Our students acquire and develop a wide range of Spanish skills, both oral and written, which can be used with success in the marketplace or as part of university degrees.
