About Us

The goal of Spanning the Gaps is to increase post-secondary participation by young people and adults who might not otherwise interact with or experience post-secondary education. Many of our students have faced systemic and personal life barriers to education; others need another chance as earlier ones didn’t work out. By providing information and opportunities, we strive to put students in the best situation to be successful in post-secondary studies.

We can provide information and advice about:

  • Admission requirements
  • Upgrading options
  • Program and course selection
  • Financial aid

Spanning the Gaps was initially created as a special project in 2008 by Dr. Rona Abramovitch, Advisor on Outreach and Access Office of the Provost and Vice President Academic and is now part of The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education. We work in partnership with schools, school boards, and community agencies.

The Chang School is Canada’s foremost provider of university-based adult education, facilitating access to the University’s renowned, professionally relevant courses and programs. Since 1975, we have been delivering leading-edge workplace knowledge that empowers learners to reach their personal and professional goals.
