Executive Seminar on Privacy, Identity, and Data Analytics: What you need to know
The Chang School’s one-day Executive Seminar on Privacy, Identity, and Data Analytics is designed for executives and senior managers who are responsible for their organization’s data privacy, along with their areas of operation. The objective of the seminar is to help participants understand how, as executives and senior managers, they play an essential role in creating an organization that proactively and effectively manages data privacy, particularly in the era of big data and the emerging Internet of Things.
As a participant, you will learn about the current state of privacy regulations, fair information practices, and how implementing the Seven Foundational Principles of Privacy by Design™ can help to proactively prevent data breaches and privacy infractions. You will also learn how to gain a competitive advantage by proactively embedding Privacy by Design into your operations.
This seminar will leverage a combination of learning formats, including a traditional lecture, as well as extensive interaction through case studies and group discussions – all led by Dr. Ann Cavoukian, three-term Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, now the Executive Director of Ryerson University’s Privacy and Big Data Institute.
Identity experts will facilitate the analysis and discussion of issues relating to identity and the uses of personally identifiable data. Methods of de-identifying and anonymizing data will also be explored, to enable maximum data utility and privacy: win/win.
