CCRM 601 Violence in Society

This course is designed to provide students with the skills to think critically about various forms of interpersonal violence and the social response to it. The course will conclude with a detailed analysis of the major policies which have emerged to deal with violence, such as zero tolerance policies, traditional approaches to crime prevention, increasing criminal sanctions and, finally, the implementation of alternatives to the criminal process. (Upper-level liberal studies elective)

Note: This course is no longer available for credit towards the graduation requirements for the Criminal Justice and Criminology certificate program.
