CFRE 707 Introduction to French-English Translation

This course, taught in French, is designed to improve significantly students' appreciation of the general difficulties of translation from French to English, through a study of the characteristics of expression in each language and of the way they pertain to the difficulties of translation. Through numerous translation exercises, students learn to express the same concepts naturally in the target language, without undue interference from the source language. (Lower-level liberal studies elective) (Upper-level liberal studies elective)

CFRE 707, CFRE 602, and CFRE 607 can be taken in the same term.
