CHST 807 The Canadian Revolution: Canada 1968-2000

Canada has undergone such profound social, cultural, constitutional, and political changes since 1968 that it can be argued that the country has experienced a "revolution." The goal of this course is to examine the nature of this "revolution" and to give students a broad introduction to the major events and themes in contemporary Canadian history, including such topics as constitutional reform, multiculturalism, Quebec, free trade, cultural organizations, foreign policy, globalization, feminism, and Aboriginal rights. (Upper-level liberal studies elective)
