CSPN 804 Latin American Culture II

This course is designed to introduce students to the culture of Mexico, Central America and the Spanish-speaking Caribbean. Literary works by authors such as Laura Esquivel, Carlos Fuentes and Nicolas Guillén will be studied in relation to social and political themes in Latin American society. The study of painting, sculpture, cinema, music and popular culture will lead to an enhanced awareness of cultural diversity in the Spanish speaking world. The language of instruction is Spanish. (Lower-level liberal studies elective) (Upper-level liberal studies elective)

Note: All students must take an interview/placement assessment before enrolling in this course.
