This course will introduce students to "evidence-informed" practice and policy in gerontology - the idea that practice and policy should be based upon reliable evidence. The course encompasses three broad areas: first, learning about the concept of evidence-informed practice and policy; second, learning about the nature of "evidence"; and finally, learning how to critically appraise evidence to influence change. Students will develop skills for applying evidence to decision-making in practice and policy across disciplines and professional backgrounds. . Equivalent to HSM 417.
