Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing, Faculty of Community Services

The Post-Diploma Degree Completion Program in Nursing is designed to prepare a more liberally educated nurse to function in a variety of roles and health care settings. The program provides an opportunity for diploma nursing graduates to develop an analytical approach to nursing practice, and to expand their understanding of how they as practitioners, and how nursing as a profession, integrates with the rest of the health care system.

Further information may be requested from the Ryerson Office of Admissions/Liaison, 350 Victoria Street, Toronto, Ontario M5B 2K3.

Degree-level nursing courses available through The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education

All of the post-diploma nursing courses are available through The Chang School. They are a credit in the BScN program.

You can take these courses prior to admission to the degree program. They will be used towards graduation requirements but will NOT be included in your cumulative GPA. A minimum grade of C (63 percent) must be achieved for successful completion of nursing courses.

The following combination of courses has been developed to assist RNs and RPNs who have completed an RPN to BScN bridging certificate who wish to complete their degree on a part-time basis in the least amount of time. By planning your studies according to this schedule you can complete your degree in as little as 19 or 30 months. Students can take up to seven years to complete the degree part-time. Please note you must be a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses in Ontario to take courses in The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education in Nursing. RPNs who have successfully completed an RPN to BScN bridging certificate may also be admitted to the part-time study on-campus or at a Regional Access Centre.

Note: All RNs must formally apply for admission to the part-time post-diploma degree program before they have completed 50 percent of the program requirements. This includes Transfer Credits from other institutions.

We provide you with many scheduling alternatives, but the 30-month schedule is the most common. We offer all degree courses online, at Ryerson, and at the Regional Access Centres (RACs) in hybrid delivery format.
