The Chang School’s Certificate in Lighting Design is the only one of its kind in Canada, and one of only six in North America. Our instructors are experienced professionals who bring current knowledge and applications to every course. The lighting industry of the fixture and lamp manufacturers is estimated at $500 million1 with the global market at over $100 billion USD2. The industry itself is experiencing a large growth due to energy concerns and the recent development of white light LED technology. As a result, these developments have dramatically increased the demand for knowledgeable practitioners.

Our Partner

Our partner is the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, Toronto Section. The Toronto Section of the IESNA has been instrumental in supporting the Lighting Design program at Ryerson University and has raised significant funds for the IES Award (offered jointly with founding scholarship partners Canlyte and Osram Sylvania) for students registered in the Certificate in Lighting Design.

LIT 101: LightForm's Tuition Reimbursement Opportunity

LightForm and The Chang School are proud to announce LIT 101 – a new sponsorship project that financially supports students registered in the Certificate in Lighting Design. LIT 101 will assist students with up to 50% of their upcoming course tuition fees.
