Local Economic Development

The overarching goal of the Certificate in Local Economic Development is to successfully prepare learners and graduates in the workforce with the skills and competencies to address the current and emerging area of local economic development (LED). This includes the basic fundamentals and practical knowledge of current best practices and innovative approaches within the field.

This certificate aims to provide opportunities for skill development in creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, and collaboration and flexibility to be able to respond to current LED challenges. The skills and knowledge acquired in this certificate program will help learners develop and thrive in public and private positions.
